Jeff Holland mentions the upcoming release of Depth Charge Espresso Milk Stout in his Creative Loafing article “Talking Head: Terrapin gets busy.” Look for the Depth Charge Espresso Milk Stout and Coffee in September. Read the full article to learn more about the collaboration and other great projects out at Terrapin.
“…Depth Charge Espresso Milk Stout, brewed as part of the Midnight Project, an on-going collaboration with Left Hand Brewing Company in Colorado. Last year, the Terrapin folks flew out to Longmont to create Terra-Rye’ZD, a black rye lager. This year, the Left Hand crew came east. Left Hand is known for its milk stout, brewed with lactose sugar for a creamy texture, and Terrapin has experience with coffee through its “Wake n Bake” Imperial Stout, so this is a natural meeting of the minds. As usual, the coffee was provided by local Athens roasters Jittery Joe’s.”

While recent UGA grad Brendan Wales prepared to spend a month this summer backpacking around Europe, he was inspired to bring Jittery Joe’s Coffee, his own everyday fuel, along for the ride. “I love what Jittery Joe’s stands for and I would like to help spread its vision,” he said. Once he returned from his trip we were excited to see the results.
Check out Brendan’s photos below, and be sure to remember your everyday fuel on your next journey!
